The Association represents the views of German teachers. They have a representative on the NCCA and other curriculum-related committees.
The GDI has a committee which serves a two-year term. The present term ends in November 2012.

Each year the GDI submit a report on the State examinations.

The GDI work closely with the Austrian Embassy, especially on a number of projects such as Klaras Kiste.
